"We tell ourselves stories in order to live..."
Actually the story of Dracyor starts in 1998, when Marcel Schiborr aka Boromir wrote a song for the former formation of Revel In Void, which is now the opener of the debut, namely "Midnight Bride". This song originally existed only as a rehearsal recording.
It remained for many years only in this demo version until 2018 when Boromir decided to finally write a gothic metal album, something he had been planning for a long time. During this time Boromir discovered a wonderful photo of the model Libertina Grimm, whose work he had been following for some time. This photo inspired him to create the story behind Gyöngyvér and Libertina fortunately agreed to use this photo as the cover.
So very quickly other tracks of the album were created, e.g. "The Landscape Of Her Eyes", "Daylight Wanderer" and "Shunned". Although not all songs were finished, the search for a singer and a growler was started.
Boromir remembered the impressive figure and performance of the singer of a band he had shared the stage with before, Björn from Oneiros. Fortunately, it was no problem to find out the contact and he wrote to him. Björn, aka Lord Levente, was immediately enthusiastic about the idea. In response to the ad for the female vocalist position, some very capable musicians came forward.
Among them was Martina aka Gyöngyvér, who not only attracted attention with an extremely strong vocal performance, but also immediately hit the nerve of the song with her vocal line to Midnight Bride. In addition to that she wrote the lyrics to the song in no time and Boromir was thrilled!
In the beginning it was only a project, but it turned out that Gyöngyvér's and Lord Levente's entry created a project with too much potential to leave it at that. Boromir could immediately inspire Daniel aka Davór for the bass position, with whom he had already played together with Mayze for a long time and who was also with Oneiros at that time. For the drums there was only one possible candidate, Matt Bauer aka Count Sagúl, with whom Boromir also plays with Mayze and The Witches' Dream. Despite the fact that he was quite busy, he fortunately agreed after hearing the songs!
As life sometimes goes, Boromir received a mail from Vero aka Ildikó during this phase, asking him if he could imagine working with her, since she wasn't active in any band at the moment. He knew her through her former band Never Comes Silence and knew how emotionally and enrichingly she brings her instruments violin and viola into the songs and was immediately enthusiastic.
Through an acquaintance of Lord Levente Jan aka László finally became aware of the keyboard search and after a meeting could be organized and the first rehearsal took place it was immediately clear that he is the man at the keys. So the band was finally complete and the album was recorded quite quickly after Boromir had finished composing the remaining songs in the meantime.
"No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it."
